Conference on Health Disparities
Margarita Alegria, Ph.D., Chief of the Disparities Research Unit at Massachusetts General Hospital (MGH) and Professor of Medicine and Psychiatry at Harvard Medical School will be the Keynote speaker of this year's UC Latino Faculty Association Conference on Health Disparities. Dr. Alegria will speak on Friday, September 25 from 9 am to 12 pm.
From 12 pm to 1 pm, an interactive session will be offered focused on providing guidance to students and early career professionals regarding the steps they can take to start a career in the field of health disparities. Students applying for medical residency, psychology internships, or postdoctoral fellowships are strongly encouraged to attend. Speakers will include two UC alumnae
Jenny Zhen-Duan, Ph.D., a Research Fellow at MGH / Harvard Medical School, and Caroline Hensley, MD, MPH, a family medicine resident physician at the University of Wisconsin School of Medicine and Co-Founder of the UC Student-Run Free Clinic. Watch Dr. Hensley's CNN interview here.
