High School Science Student Symposium at Cincinnati Children's
High School Science Student Symposium
The purpose of the annual Symposium is to stimulate outstanding high school science students' interest in pursuing biomedical careers by allowing them to meet and learn first-hand about the work of doctors, scientists and allied health professionals who are finding new treatments and cures for childhood diseases and improving the outcomes for children today. The students learn about careers in the allied health sciences and biomedical research and tour clinical and research facilities at Cincinnati Children's Hospital Medical Center. Our goal is that participants will leave with a greater interest in pursuing a career in health care or research.
All Cincinnati Tri-State Area High Schools are invited to participate. Since participation in this event should be viewed as an honor bestowed upon their best science students, schools are encouraged to select students who are:
* outstanding science students
* juniors or seniors in high school
* interested in careers in science and medicine
Students must be accompanied by a science faculty member or other adult representative from their high school. The invitation letter sent to Cincinnati area high school science teachers is attached.
Online registration is required. We only have space for 46 schools so early registration is encouraged. Registration will be closed when we reach capacity or at noon on February 17, 2017. Only 1 group of 3 will be accepted from each school.
The Annual High School Science Student Symposium will be held on Friday, March 3, 2017 from 8:30 am to 2:00 pm. Directions to the Sabin Education Center will be provided to all registered participants.
