Intro to Quilting
Ages 13- Adult. Instructor: Carole Gary Staples
Learn the quilting process and complete your own small quilt project! In this class, you’ll learn how to choose fabrics, follow a quilting pattern, cut fabric, piece a top, make a quilt sandwich, quilt your sandwich on a traditional sewing machine (or by hand), and bind! Designed for someone who has used their sewing machine (or has basic hand sewing experience), but has never made a quilted project. Students supply their own materials. Supplies will need to be purchased after first class. This class will meet remotely via Zoom.
Students supply the following materials:
- sewing machine (recommended, but optional)
- bobbins
- fabric marking pencil
- rotary cutter
- 18 acrylic quilter’s ruler
- sharp sewing scissors
- straight pins
- cutting mat
- 100% cotton fabric (quilters’ cotton)
- batting
- quilting thread

CANCELLATION POLICY: Tuition is non-refundable, but can be transferred to another course if the student withdraws at least five days prior to the beginning of the course.
All participants need to complete and submit an Emergency Contact and Photo Release.
