STARING SLAVERY IN THE FACE: IN LIBYA & BEYOND
Much of our news feeds have been filled recently with horrific images and information about humans being sold in slave auctions in Libya. Lisa Kristine, I AM Campaign, and the National Underground Railroad Freedom Center have come together to create a one day symposium on combating modern day slavery and the illicit networks that sustain it.
This symposium is part of a series of local efforts seeking to create a more robust sense of awareness during National Slavery and Human Trafficking Prevention Month. Returning to Cincinnati to deliver our closing keynote address, after jaw dropping reviews for her exhibit, ENSLAVED: A Visual Story of Modern Day Slavery, Lisa Kristine will use powerful imagery coupled with intimate portrayals to raise awareness of modern slavery.
The day will consist of the following:
A trauma-informed yoga session (optional)
General Admission to the Freedom Center (for symposium registrants)
Panel Discussions
Break-Out Roundtables
A Closing Keynote by Lisa Kristine with Reception
