Participants of this workshop will review the history of medical trauma within the African American community followed by a review of the present-day impact of racism on health disparities. This workshop will conclude with a discussion on effective strategies that can be utilized in local communities to promote healthcare equality and address medical trauma and mistrust of the healthcare system.
