
Web Developer / Web Builder
University Communications
Build and test the functionality of the university’s top-level web pages
Responsibilities and duties include: build web pages using CSS and other best-practice techniques; assist with researching and implementing new and existing web technologies to improve university marketing efforts; develop and maintain university web templates; collaborate with web team members to develop work processes and procedures and document tasks; and partner with IT Services and other on-campus groups to implement and support university-wide Web standards
Required qualifications: minimum of three years’ experience in web site development (will consider a combination of education and experience); knowledge of W3C standards, web accessibility standards, and cross-browser compatibility issues; advanced knowledge of X/HTML, CSS, and JavaScript; advanced knowledge of Dreamweaver, Photoshop, and Contribute (or similar work-flow management application); and strong organizational and communication skills with the ability to work as part of cross-functional teams
Desired qualifications: Bachelor’s degree in a related field; proficiency in both Windows and Macintosh environments; previous experience working in a higher-education environment’ knowledge of Flash and ActionScript; knowledge of ColdFusion and PHP; eExperience in web usability testing, and experience editing video and audio files (QTVR)
Any equivalent combination of education and/or experience providing the knowledge/skills/abilities listed above may be substituted. This position carries a starting, annual salary of $49,000-52,000.
