POSITION AVAILABLE: PUBLIC RELATIONS/MARKETING INTERN

The Cincinnati Playhouse in the Park seeks a motivated professional to serve as a public relations/marketing intern. The position requires an individual who has strong writing skills, is well-organized, creative and adept at juggling multiple projects and working in a dynamic,

fast-paced environment.

The position is paid and is available June 14, 2010 until mid-October. According to School schedule and Playhouse needs, work hours vary 20-35 hours per week throughout internship.

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to the following:

• Assisting in maintaining database of local, regional and national media contacts for news releases and opening night invitations.
• Initiating, researching and writing press releases and articles for inclusion online or in newsletters.
• Writing and distributing the Playhouse’s bi-weekly staff newsletter, Preview.
• Preparing and distributing materials for marketing promotions.
• Assisting with opening nights, including preparing media and actor closing kits, distributing video and hanging and taking down photos.
• Creating simpler flyers and brochures using Quark.
• Maintaining media coverage and season archive files.
• Conducting tours of the Playhouse’s facility.

·        Filling out purchase orders.

• Preparing and distributing e-mail newsletters and some promotional e-mails.
• Administrative duties - labeling, stuffing envelopes, filing and copying.
• Executing other duties as assigned.

Excellent verbal and written communication skills a necessity. Strong computer skills in Word and Excel; knowledge of Quark a plus. Some evening/weekend hours and a valid driver’s license are required. Enthusiasm for and knowledge of theatre is a definite plus.
