    Job Description
    Gateway Community and Technical College invites applications for the position of HVAC Instructor. The instructor will provide instruction in the field air conditioning technology to prepare students for various entry-level HVAC positions in industry and the building trades.

     Expected Start Date: January 2020

    Gateway Community and Technical College is located in Northern Kentucky - part of the Greater Cincinnati Region

    This position will have a varied work schedule.  Classes run both in the morning and evenings.

    • Teach HVAC classes and labs including demonstrations of diagnosis and repair of improperly working equipment
    • Work collaboratively with students, fellow faculty, and staff to ensure the educational needs of the individual learner are met.
    • Maintenance and care of classrooms, labs & training materials. 
    • Keep abreast of changes in the HVAC field and help keep the program/instruction updated. 
    • Provide instruction to students in both theory and practice
    • Provide students with the background, knowledge and basic skills needed to function effectively on the job.
    • Provide academic advising to students
    • Other duties as assigned
    Required Qualifications
    • 2 years of industry experience
    • Journeyman HVAC License
    • Commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusion.
    • Experience in and understanding of the importance of working with students from diverse populations. 
    • Excellent organizational skills; high attention to detail; independent; self-motivated; able to work in a fast-paced, changing environment. 
    • Excellent interpersonal skills; ability to communicate with many individuals at all levels throughout the internal college environment as well as external business and community partners, representing his/her self in a professional and courteous manner.
    • Ability to communicate clearly in writing and verbally.
    • Ability to multi-task, work under deadlines, and prioritize projects to meet deadlines with high levels of efficiency and accuracy. 
    • Must have proficient computer skills in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel and Outlook)

    Preferred Qualifications
    • Associates in HVAC
    • EPA608 License
    • Experience in and understanding of the importance of working with students from diverse populations. 
    • Experience working at the community college level.
