    Job Description
    KENTON COUNTY AIRPORT BOARD invites applications for the position of:    Plumber – 2nd Shift
        Open Until Filled
        Responsible for skilled work in the installation, maintenance and repair of airport plumbing systems that provide clean water and control the disposal of human waste.

    This class specification represents only the core areas of responsibilities; specific position assignments will vary depending on the needs of the department.
    • Installs, maintains and repairs plumbing fixtures in restrooms, water lines, sewer lines and water fountains.
    • Ensures the airport is in compliance with current plumbing codes.
    • Performs servicing and testing of plumbing equipment.
    • Checks and repairs faucets and the working order of restrooms.
    • Performs water main and fire hydrant repair.
    • Performs water meter reading and repair.
    • On-call 24/7 to respond to system problems.
    • Complete work orders and record time/material utilized.
    • Performs on-call duties, specific position assignments will vary based on department needs.
    • Performs other duties of a similar nature and level as assigned.

    High School diploma or GED and five years of plumbing experience; or, an equivalent combination of education and experience sufficient to successfully perform the essential duties of the job such as those listed above.

    • Commercial Driver’s license – Class A
    • Journeyman Plumber License
    • Cross Connection and Control Testers license
    • Security Identification Display Area Clearance (SIDA)

    • Kentucky State Plumbing Code;
    • Testing and repair of cross connection devises;
    • Wide variety of hand and power tools;
    • Test and repair of water meters;
    • OSHA Standards, Airfield and FAA Regulations.

    • Use of a variety of computer-based technologies including word processing, and spreadsheets;
    • Establishing and maintaining effective, fair, cooperative, collaborative and respectful relationships with internal and external colleagues, peers, work teams and workgroups.

    Positions in this class typically require: climbing, balancing, stooping, kneeling, crouching, crawling, reaching, standing, walking, lifting, pushing, pulling, lifting, fingering, grasping, feeling, talking, hearing, seeing and repetitive motions.
    Very Heavy Work: exerting in excess of 100 pounds of force occasionally, and/or in excess of 50 pounds of force frequently, and/or in excess of 20 pounds of force constantly to move objects.
