    Job Description
    NOTICE OF OPEN POSITION
     
    TITLE:                        Benefits Manager
     
    LOCATION:               Support Center
                                        1520 Madison Road
                                        Cincinnati, Ohio  45206
     
    QUALIFICATIONS:  Bachelor's degree required; a degree in vocational rehabilitation, special education or psychology preferred.  Must possess or have ability to obtain CWIC (Certified Work Incentives Counselor) certification.  Meets agency's requirements for driver insurability.
     
    DUTIES:         (Not intended to describe all duties.)
    Performs benefits analyses by conferring with individuals, parents, advocates, family members or residential agency representatives, DD staff, and other personnel to assist them in understanding the individual's Social Security and other related benefits as they may be effected by increased earned income.
     
    Assists the individual in accessing the Work Incentive programs through the Social Security Administration and Department of Jobs and Family Services that are applicable to his/her situation.
     
    Supervises Benefits Representative Section (i.e. recommend hires, trains, provides necessary support, evaluates and disciplines paraprofessional staff).
     
    Accompanies the individuals and their families/support persons to the Social Security Administration and Department of Jobs and Family Services offices when necessary. May provide transportation to and from these meetings (in personal or county vehicle).
     
    Develops documentation necessary to access Social Security Work Incentive programs by meeting with employers, job coaches, job developers, RSC counselors, school staff, etc.
     
    Provides on-going training regarding the Social Security Administration’s, Department of Job and Family Services’ regulations and Work Incentive programs to DD staff, contracted staff, residential staff, families, individuals and the general public.
     
    Prepares case notes, reports and documentation for funding sources.
     
    Serves on the Individual Budget Review Team as a funding consultant; serves on boards and facility committees at the local, state and national level.
     
    Demonstrates regular and predictable attendance; demonstrates a sense of teamwork and cooperation.
     
    Maintains required certificates; attends meetings, seminars and conferences to develop knowledge of current practices and Social Security Administration and Department of Jobs and Family Services rulings to provide best services and supports to the individual.
     
    Travel as required to varying sites in a safe, efficient and effective manner in accordance with agency procedures.
     
    COMPENSATION:
    Annual salary:  $60,451.95
