    Job Description
    CLOSING DATE: Open Until Filled 

    CLASS SUMMARY:  
    Supports Project Managers and Engineers in the Planning and Development Department. Assists with project documentation, field inspections, project filing, and closeout. Primary role to include inventorying hard copy and electronic record drawings, coordinating construction information with managers, including the update of design information to reflect recent changes to Airport facilities. Other responsibilities include assisting other KCAB departments with respect to design and construction issues and assisting the team with various ongoing Airport programs/projects.

    ESSENTIAL DUTIES:  
    This class specification represents only the core areas of responsibilities; specific position assignments will vary depending on the needs of the department. 
    - Inventories, organizes, and documents construction plan drawing (hard and electronic copies).
    - Updates KCAB record drawings to reflect recent changes to facility floor plans, utilities, airfield pavements, and other various airport features located on airport property.
    - Assists project managers/engineers with construction project documentation (wage rate reviews, Request For Information (RFIs), plan comments, etc…), as well as project filing and preparing closeout documentation.
    - Performs limited field inspections as needed for ongoing projects.
    - Assists with the preparation of reports and research to support project managers/engineers. - Performs other duties of a similar nature and level as assigned. 

    TRAINING AND EXPERIENCE: 
    - High school diploma and currently attending or enrolled in a college program with a focus on Architecture, Engineering, Planning, Construction Management, Survey, Aviation Management or a related field to the area of assignment; or, an equivalent combination of education and experience sufficient to successfully perform the essential duties of the job such as those listed above. 

    LICENSING/CERTIFICATIONS:
    - Valid Driver’s License.
    - Maintain Security Identification Display Area Clearance (SIDA) clearance. 

    KNOWLEDGE OF:
    - Planning/Architecture/Engineering/Construction drawing development and management
    - Presentation and graphics development
    - Knowledge of aviation, Geographic Information Systems (GIS), and field surveys are not required but a plus
    - Working with project management  
     
    SKILL IN: 
    - Task oriented approach to completing assignments;
    - Strong computer skills in Microsoft Office Applications and AutoCAD;
    - Clearly and effectively communicating, both orally and in writing;
    - Strong organizational skills;
    - Good analytical skills;
    - Establishing and maintaining effective, fair, cooperative, collaborative and respectful relationships with internal and external colleagues, peers, work teams and workgroups. 

    ABILITIES: 
    Positions in this class typically require: climbing, stooping, kneeling, crouching, reaching, standing, walking, fingering, feeling, talking, hearing, and seeing.   
     
    Medium Work: exerting up to 50 pounds of force occasionally, and/or up to 20 pounds of force frequently and/or up to 10 pounds of force constantly to move objects.
