    The Coordinator of Retention: Engagement, Leadership & Mentoring is a leader and contributor to Gateway’s Strategic Enrollment Management Implementation team and is responsible for the coordination and management of Gateway’s student engagement programming, implementing the pilot of our student leadership program and mentoring our at-risk students


    Develop, implement, and coordinate retention and student engagement programming that encompasses student co-curricular programming, student organizations, student leadership, and volunteerism, which builds a supportive & connected community for our students.

    Implement our student leadership program that includes recruiting, selecting, training, supervising, and managing our student leaders.

    Increase student organizations membership by engaging our students, leading some student campaigns- including Student Board Rep elections, coordinating student organization recruitment events, and advising the Student Government Association (SGA).

    Develop, coordinate and implement student engagement activities and programming for key student cohorts across the campus including oversight and updating of the college’s online student orientation program as well as offering 2 in-person summer orientations.

    Serve as a Mentor for our at risk student population.

    Co-lead the SEM Implementation Team and the Events sub-team.

    Other duties as assigned.

    *Individual manages an orientation and student engagement budget


    Bachelor's degree or equivalent in Student Personnel, Counseling, Education or related field

    Excellent organizational skills; high attention to detail; independent; self-motivated; able to work in a fast-paced, changing environment; excellent interpersonal skills; ability to communicate with many individuals at all levels throughout the internal college environment as well as external business and community partners, representing his/her self in a professional and courteous manner; ability to communicate clearly in writing and verbally; ability to multi-task, work under deadlines, and prioritize projects to meet deadlines with high levels of efficiency and accuracy.  Must have extensive computer skills in: Microsoft Office (Word, Excel and Outlook)

    Some travel among campuses will be expected.
