This position will lead the development and management of the budget for all fund groups and ensures that all Business Functions are handled in accordance with KCTCS Policies and Procedures.
Operational budget decisions will be made in order to manage the college’s budget throughout the fiscal year.
Serves in supervisory role in the Business Office.
Develops, implements and monitors the budget for all fund groups.
Presents budget, supporting documents and quarterly variations to internal and external stakeholders
Approves all accounts payable documents; ensures that KCTCS purchasing policies are enforced; serves as procurement administrator for the college; and provides ongoing training sessions to ensure that all personnel are informed of the KCTCS purchasing policies and procedures. Completes correction/transfer journals when needed.
Responsible for ensuring all cash is appropriately collected and posted; serves as contact for local depository institutions; ensures that local cash handling procedures are implemented; ensures daily deposits are entered correctly and timely and reconciles back accounts, credit card accounts and pay pal accounts monthly; and works with KCTCS Internal Auditor during audit periods
Oversee the workflow of payroll processing; serving as a backup to payroll; assist with the resolution of a wide variety of payroll problems; special projects related to payroll operations and complete correction/transfer journals as needed.
Oversee the workflow and processing of student’s financial accounts. Ensure that the purge, collections and reconciliation process of student accounts is handled in a timely and professional manner. Ensure that all Gateway policies are in compliance with KCTCS policies and procedures as well as any pertaining federal guidelines.
Assists with facilities management

Bachelor's degree or equivalent in Accounting/Finance/Business with 3 years of relevant experience
Excellent organizational skills; high attention to detail; independent; self-motivated; able to work in a fast-paced, changing environment; excellent interpersonal skills; ability to communicate with many individuals at all levels throughout the internal college environment as well as external business and community partners, representing his/her self in a professional and courteous manner; ability to communicate clearly in writing and verbally; ability to multi-task, work under deadlines, and prioritize projects to meet deadlines with high levels of efficiency and accuracy.
Must have extensive computer skills in: Microsoft Office (Word, Excel and Outlook)
