    Position: Quality Engineer
    Reports to: Plant Mananger
    Revision Date: January 8 2019

    Mission of the Position:

    Plan, design, arrange, change, and optimize the quality control manufacturing process. Demonstrates and upholds the FBMT values and follows all company policies and procedures.
    Scope of the Position:
    The purpose of the Quality Engineer is to plan and execute activities concerned with development, application, and maintenance of quality standards for industrial processes, materials and products.
    Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
    • Create and maintain an organized and clean working environment which fosters greater efficiency and control.
    • Attend and provide input into morning production meetings and communicate concerns/challenges
    • When necessary, arrive at office during or overlap the 3rd shift schedule
    • Prepare PPAP Documentation
      • New Parts
      • Annual Validation
    • Customer Complaints
      • Review Complaint
      • Involve Team Members to resolve
      • Prepare 8D reports
    • Performs Layered Process Audits
    • Process New Part Trials
    • Improve Efficiencies through Process Optimization Techniques
    • Reduce scrap and rework through daily analysis of FPY and Rework.  Includes review of Victory Summary and providing recommendations.
    • Apply continuous improvement methods such as lean manufacturing to enhance manufacturing quality, reliability, or cost-effectiveness.
    • Identify opportunities or implement changes to improve products or reduce costs using knowledge of fabrication processes, tooling and production equipment, assembly methods, quality control standards, or product design, materials and parts.
    • Develops and implements methods and procedures for disposition of discrepant material and devises methods to assess cost and responsibility.
    • Maintain Calibration requirements
    • Develop, execute and analyze quality reporting measures.
    • Participate in internal and external quality audits.
    • Bachelor's Degree or advanced education in engineering, or equivalent major.
    • Minimum 5 years relevant experience--Manufacturing, supervision, Quality control. QS. Calibration of instruments, gauges, etc.
    Special Requirements:
    • Excellent written and verbal communications skills and the ability to relate to all levels of employees at a production facility.
    • Strong analytical skills, along with a solid understanding of Microsoft Office software.
    • Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions.
