    Job Description
    GENERAL DESCRIPTION
    The Director IT/Solutions Architect drives end to end technology solutions for the entire organization. This includes a large customer facing service line that operates in a 24x7x365 environment as well as for internal customers. This role requires significant coordination with the Director of Operations as well as direct reports and other key constituents to ensure a well-organized and efficient team approach. This is a leadership position and will be involved in providing critical input into organization wide decisions.

    JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
    • Manages the technical design, planning, documentation, and roadmaps for customer and internally facing initiatives
    • Manages team (internal, outsourced, and vendors) to deliver initiatives; provides coaching and mentoring to ensure performance objectives are met
    • Works directly with customers to ensure appropriate solutions are implementable and meets customer needs.
    • Maintains technical standards where appropriate
    • Participates in regional and national health information technology initiatives
    • Develops and maintains strong relationship and communication with all key stakeholders
    • Manages departmental budget and forecasting
    • Maintains awareness of new and emerging healthcare technologies and their potential fit into The Health Collaborative technical eco-system
    • Recommends appropriate strategic actions. Assesses the business and organizational implications of key applications technology alternatives for wide-impact initiatives.
    • Ensures proper use and protection of information assets by complying with the organization’s information privacy and security policies to protect assets from unauthorized access and by reporting any security events or potential events or other security risks to the organization.

    POSITION REQUIREMENTS
    • At least 5 years in a similar solutions architecture role or responsibilities
    • At least 5 years effectively managing direct and indirect teams
    • At least 5 years’ experience in the healthcare IT industry
    • 2 years’ experience working in a consulting/services type organization preferred
    • Proven ability to contribute to, communicate, and execute a technology vision
    • Strong planning, organization, analytical and troubleshooting skills
    • Ability to effectively communicate technical solutions in non-technical terms
    • Ability to cultivate positive working relationships with customers and coworkers
    • Ability to sit for extended periods of time in front of a computer screen
    EDUCATION/CERTIFICATION REQUIREMENTS
    • Bachelor’s degree in a technologies/engineering discipline required.
    • Master’s degree in a complimentary business degreed program preferred (business, informatics, MIS, engineering, healthcare administration, etc.)
