    This is a temporary, full-time internship role to support our Business Banking-Credit line of business during the summer. Anticipated work period is mid-May through mid-August. We will 2 interns for this opportunity.

    Essential Functions/Responsibilities:

    • Performs financial analysis and risk assessment for the Business Banking business line.

    • Review commercial loan applications and analyzes credit information to make a general assessment of applicant's creditworthiness. Determines whether or not the proposed loan will conform to the Bank's lending policy. Provide feedback regarding the structure, underwriting, and management of loans. Maintain on-going communication with all appropriate management on the status of transactions.

    • Spread statements for new business opportunities and renewals.

    • Prepare credit memos for new and renewal requests on Business Banking clients.

    • Work with Business Banking Officers in the preparation of complete and accurate credit memos for presentation to the appropriate credit authorities for decisions on transaction credit requests and reviews. Attendance of loan huddles when a credit is being discussed.

    • Determine proper Asset Quality Ratings and in the identification of any deterioration or change in the client's capacity to follow the contractual terms of agreements, including all covenants.

    • Set up, monitor, and test outstanding covenants as directed by the executed loan documents.

    • Assist in the preparation of any reports, including exception reports, for monitoring purposes or otherwise that are required.

    • Visit other areas of the Bank such as Operations and Loan Documentation and sales calls with Business Banking Officers.

    Minimum Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Needed to Perform Essential Functions of the Job:

    • Proficiency in mathematical concepts, in order to apply to practical situations.

    • Knowledge of advanced accounting principles and techniques • Strong interpersonal and communication skills

    • Working on obtaining Bachelor's Degree, preferably in Accounting, Finance, Economics, Business Administration or equivalent professional training
