    Landscape Design Architect/Maintenance
    City of Fairfield, Ohio
     
    Located in Southwestern Ohio, about 20 miles north of Cincinnati, the City of Fairfield comprises an area of 21.6 square miles in the gently rolling landscape of the Great Miami River Valley.  Fairfield is a well-established, progressive city, with a stable economy and exceptional quality of life.  It is home to approximately 43,000 residents and the prime business address for more than 1,200 retail, service and light industrial establishments. The City is served by a Council/Manager form of government which embraces a "customer service" approach as its philosophy.
     
    We are currently seeking applicants for the position of Landscape Design Architect/Maintenance to proactively coordinate the landscaping and maintenance of City-owned facilities and right-of-ways with a focus on design and implementation.  The City currently has 37 parks and approximately 375 miles of roadway.   Will require evening and weekend work.
     
    The position requires:
    • Associates Degree in Landscape Architecture, Agronomy, Horticulture, Turf Management or related field; Bachelor’s Degree preferred.
    • Two years’ experience in Landscape Architecture.
    • Arborist certification desirable.
    • Leadership and managerial skills.
    • Effective oral and written communications skills. 
    • Basic computer skills in word processing and spreadsheet
    • Must possess or have the ability to obtain a valid Ohio Pesticide License and it must be maintained throughout employment.
    • Valid driver’s license at time of appointment which must be maintained throughout employment.
