    Position: Development Manager [FT]

    MORTAR is looking for a Development* Manager to work closely with our Managing Partner to support organizational fundraising goals while also playing a key role in building the infrastructure for a high-functioning Development Department. *Development is a fancy way of saying “you know how to make it rain!”

    Who you are: As a Development Manager, you are part of a growing team focused on helping build and structure MORTAR’s Development and Fundraising capacity. In this role, you will support our Managing Partner in all Development responsibilities, including helping build the Development Department and implementing new processes to support existing donors and find new opportunities. The Development Manager will provide support in data entry, budget tracking, donation processing and more, so enjoying the process of organization will be important for this role.

There’s a quote that essentially says, “If I can’t dance, I don’t want to be a part of your revolution”, which means that changing the world and having fun shouldn't be mutually exclusive. There’s no fundraising without FUN, so we want someone who brings an optimistic, problem-solving mentality to the Development Manager role.

    Are you an over-achiever? PERFECT! Extra consideration will be given to people with a knack for writing and storytelling. You should also consider submitting a writing sample to showcase your skills along with your attention to detail.

    A Bachelor's Degree and 2-3 years of fundraising experience. We also pride ourselves in treating our people well, salary and benefits include:

MORTAR accomplishes this goal in by offering a 14-week business training course designed to teach entrepreneurs (often from low and moderate income backgrounds) the nuances of starting or growing a business. Post graduation, our alumni program offers an additional 18 months of ongoing support. MORTAR also runs and operates BRICK pop-up shops, created to provide entrepreneurs with the opportunity to pressure-test their ideas in real time.
