    CVB Tourism Members and Partners,

The Cincinnati USA Convention & Visitors Bureau has been closely monitoring the impact of COVID-19 on our local hospitality industry. We would like to provide the following updates and information relative to this quickly evolving national emergency.

Ohio Gov. Mike DeWine today ordered all restaurants and bars to close to the public as of 9 p.m. Sunday, March 15, citing the need for improved social distancing due to COVID-19 (coronavirus). Restaurants with carry-out service or drive throughs will continue as usual, and the governor and Ohio Restaurant Association are encouraging the public to continue to patronize restaurants.

The Cincinnati Hotel Association continues to maintain the highest standards for sanitation and has taken additional steps to enhance its efforts at hotels. Our convention centers downtown and in Sharonville also have undertaken aggressive deep cleaning and increased sanitation stations.

Attractions, restaurants, and other public spaces have shared their proactive plans with the CVB to prevent the spread of infectious diseases amongst visitors. They’ve taken proactive steps to educate their workforce about what COVID-19 is and how to prevent the spread of the coronavirus. Staff members have been encouraged to continue practicing good hygiene at home and on the job while reminding travelers to do the same while visiting. New procedures have been implemented, including increased cleanings of public spaces and high-touch areas. Guests rooms and dining spaces are being additionally sanitized, and increased hand    d sanitizing stations have been placed throughout the facilities.

The Small Business Administration is working with Gov. DeWine to provide low-interest disaster recovery loans to small businesses that have been severely impacted by the coronavirus disease.

    To determine eligibility, contact the
SBA Disaster Assistance Customer Service Center at 1-800-659-2955 or at disastercustomerservice@sba.gov for more information. Locally, small business owners are also being encouraged to contact HCDC (Hamilton County Development Co.) at 513-631-8292.

Additional information regarding unemployment is available at www.unemployment.ohio.gov. Or 1-877-644-6562.

Our hospitality industry is strong and resilient. With more than 80,000 employees, and an economic impact of more than $5 billion, we are unified and will get through this crisis together. The Cincinnati USA Convention & Visitors Bureau (CVB) will remain in close contact with our region’s hospitality industry and will provide regular updates.

    Yours in Hospitality,
